The air at 5,364 MASL is thin, crisp, and bites with a fierce chill—yet standing at Everest Base Camp (EBC), I have never felt more alive. Reaching this legendary milestone wasn’t just a triumph of physical endurance; it was a deeply moving journey made possible by the incredible team at **Mission Summit Treks & Expedition**. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Kathmandu to the final, emotional look at the Khumbu Icefall, they transformed a daunting bucket-list trek into a seamless, profoundly human adventure. Trekking in the Himalayas is as much about the culture and camaraderie as it is about the mountains. Mission Summit Treks & Expedition masterfully balanced both. Our guides weren’t just navigators; they were storytellers, safety nets, and quickly became dear friends. They monitored our acclimatization with meticulous care, ensuring that every step up the steep terrain toward Namche Bazaar and Tengboche was taken *bistari, bistari* (slowly, slowly). They took care of our friends who had medical emergencies with utmost care and haste. Because they handled every logistical detail—from securing the teahouse rooms with a view to arranging nourishing, hot meals—the daily grind of a high-altitude trek vanished. I was left free to have my mind wander in the majesty of the landscape. When we finally stood before the iconic boulder  of the Everest Base Camp, the emotion was overwhelming. Surrounded by the world’s highest peaks, tears mingled with frozen breath. Thanks to Mission Summit Treks & Expedition, I didn’t just visit the roof of the world—I felt entirely at home on it. I cannot recommend this team highly enough. From the very beginning of my journey until an unexpected medical emergency, the level of professionalism, organization, and genuine care they demonstrated was truly exceptional. A special thanks goes to Damu, who went above and beyond in every possible way. He was incredibly organized, attentive, and proactive throughout the entire experience. What impressed me the most was how calm and capable he remained during a very stressful situation. During my trek, I had to make an emergency descent due to a medical condition. From the moment the decision was made, Damu personally took charge of everything. He coordinated the logistics efficiently, ensured that I was transported safely from the clinic, and stayed actively involved all the way until I reached Kathmandu. Knowing that someone so experienced and compassionate was handling every detail gave me tremendous peace of mind during one of the most difficult moments of my trip. His hands-on approach made all the difference. He didn’t simply delegate tasks or check in occasionally—he was there every step of the way, making sure I received the care I needed, communicating clearly, and ensuring that every transition was smooth. It was evident that my safety and well-being were his top priorities. Beyond the emergency, the entire operation was very well managed. Everything was organized, communication was clear, and the team displayed a high level of professionalism. It’s easy to see that they genuinely care about their clients and are prepared to handle both routine situations and unexpected challenges with competence and compassion. Traveling in the mountains always carries some level of risk, and you hope you’ll never need emergency assistance. However, if something does happen, having someone like Damu by your side makes all the difference. His dedication, reliability, and genuine concern exceeded all of my expectations. I am deeply grateful for everything Damu and the team did for me. They turned a frightening experience into one that I could navigate with confidence because I knew I was in good hands. This is the best trek which I have went, I am not a big trekker to be frank, I did completed only go karna trek which is 5 kms. But the guide Damo is a gem of a person he came for us for the whole trip still he had fever and cold and he stayed right with us till the last day of the trip. Now he became a good friend to me. We had an amazing experience with Mission Summit Trek, especially with our guide Madan who has been wonderful to us. It was so comfortable to count on someone who knows the country and who arrange everything for you. We spend 15 days in the mountain and we have memories for life. I am 61 years old women from Guyana and living in USA, who came Nepal for Everest base camp trek with Mission Summit Treks. My dream comes true. I enjoyed every moments since my arrival to completion of my trek. Damu Mainali was my guide who treated so well that I feel myself as a part of his family. I remembered my slow pace of walking on which he waited me and helped to carry my bag. He suggested to drink plenty of water and good food that made me  strong enough to reach base camp. His guidance and customization of the EBC trekking itinerary as according to my walking speed was awesome that I didnot suffer much on the challenging trail from Phakding to Namche and  phungi Thanga to Tengboche. I thanks Punam Phuyal who treked with me. We did lot of fun on the trail. She was like my daughter but became my friend in every steps of my struggle. The memorable pictures and videos we made together will be a life time memory. I also want to thanks the porter Nir Kumar who carried my duffle bag and helped to serve food. I love the way he returned from tea house after putting the bags just to take us and help me to carry my day bag. I am so proud that I did EBC trek in my 60s. I always recommend mission Summit Treks and Expedition for the best trekking in Nepal. It is the best trekking company in Nepal that gives best services and friendly environment that touches my heart. We had such a fantastic experience on our Everest Base Camp hike thanks to our awesome sherpas, Damu and his Team. From the very beginning to the end, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Even when we ran into some delays because of the weather in Lukla, they had a backup plan in place, making sure we still had plenty of time to acclimate properly. Damu and his Team were incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely looked out for everyone's safety and well-being. They kept checking on us, giving us encouragement during the tough parts of the trek (Bistare! Bistare! but keep going 😅), and shared insights about local culture and the environment. All the logistics — accommodations, meals, transportation — were super smooth. And whenever little issues popped up, they managed everything quickly and effortlessly. The team made sure everyone felt supported and part of the group, which created a positive vibe that made the whole adventure even more memorable. I also have to give big respect to our hardworking porters — they did an amazing job. I absolutely recommend this organizer to anyone planning to trek to Everest Base Camp. Successful EBC Journey with Mission Treks & Expedition Team I would like to commend Mission Summit Trek Team, esp Damu for the excellent service he and his team provided us all through out the journey going to EBC. Damu was very hands-on in managing all the needs and demands of our team. There were delays of flight going to Lukla due to the bad weather but he made sure everything was taken care of. Despite the change of itinerary (due to the delays) everything went well and all of us, 10 members, were able to reach EBC! We had Mission Summit Treks & Expedition as our trekking guide this month April 2026 and Damu as our lead guide is the best local guide you can have in the whole Nepal. He speaks perfect Nepali, Hindi and English so communication won't be an issue. He will take care you of you from Day 1 up to the last. From the best food, best tea houses in the Khumbu Region, acclimatization, checking the condition of the whole team and the flights Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu. If you are looking for the best guide in the Himalayas, Damu and the Mission Summit Treks & Expedition is the guy. Whether it's EBC, Annapurna or any other route, they are the experts. This is my first time travel to Nepal, and also my very first trek here. Me and my friends did ABC trek with friendly and helpful guide and porter. They helped us a lot during the trek. Definitely will come back to Nepal if I have a chance.
